Together the team at CoCreate believe that taking part in amazing creative experiences can lead to a range of positive changes in our lives; to be human is to create and when we do, we make not only beautiful art but also, we develop ourselves, our communities and our understanding of our place in the world.
YOUR HighStreet - CoCreate artists will curate and lead on a varied programme of creative activities delivered on the High Street, in the heart of Poole, entering into a conversation with local people about the heritage of their High Street and listening to their thoughts about it’s future. The ideas, artwork, and conversations gathered will be carefully documented, collated and published as a record of the work. https://cocreate.org.uk/
Abigail Thommes founded Arts2Educate in 2016 after working as a Primary School teacher in London for 4 years (and as a music coordinator for 3 years) and completed an Autism Awareness Diploma and Makaton Training.
Abigail understood the challenges that teachers have in order for fitting in art, music and drama in their jam-packed schedule so because of this gap, Arts2Educate began delivering workshops not only in schools but many community venues.
Arts2Educate feels passionate about introducing The Arts into as many children’s (and adults) lives as possible and will be delivering workshops to children including a letter exchange with Newfoundland, creating a display of ship models and fish to share the maritime stories with local schools and present a public exhibition.
During the programme, participants will have the opportunity to feedback their views on public art ideas and vote on the stories to be represented in a number of public art pieces to created by local artists in significant places on your High Street for everyone to admire.
A lasting legacy from your Cultural Programme will be a new trail for visitors to follow along the the High Street highlighting heritage stories, commemorating the people that lived there and sharing our activities for everyone to enjoy long after the project.
